Erum Haider is an Assistant Professor in Political Science and Environmental Studies at the College of Wooster. She received her PhD from Georgetown University, Department of Government. She is a recipient of the USIP Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar pre-doctoral fellowship for 2019-20. She is currently a Research Fellow at the Mahbub ul Haq Research Center in Lahore, Pakistan.
Erum studies the privatization of public goods. Her doctoral research examined the ability of citizens to use political representatives to lobby for better provision. Her research primarily takes place in Karachi, Pakistan. Her work has been funded by the International Growth Center, LSE, UK, the American Institute for Pakistan Studies and the Georgetown Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
