The Janaagraha-Brown Citizenship Index (JB-CI) Report has garnered international media attention since its release on Tuesday. The report is based on a survey of more than 4000 Bangaloreans, and seeks to understand the quality of citizenship in urban India and evaluate the provision of civic, political, and social rights of citizens. The report is coauthored by Siddharth Swaminathan of Azim Premji University, and Patrick Heller and Ashutosh Varshney of Brown University, and done in collaboration with Janaagraha, one of our key partner organizations in India.
