Last month, on the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Italian Parliament honored Sardinian graduate student Gabriella Taras for her Master's thesis entitled "Immigrant women victims of violence." In the Chamber of Deputies, President Boldrini awarded Taras the prize for best thesis in the field of fighting violence against women.
The ceremony was marked by a keynote address delivered by Brown University's Leela Gandhi, John Hawkes Professor of the Humanities and English, who spoke on 'Non-Violence' to the Italian Parliament.
