Rehan Rafay Jamil, Political Science PhD candidate recently contributed a policy brief for the Association for International Development (A-id) titled, "Understanding the Citizenship Implications of Targeted Social Welfare Expansion in the Global South". The brief reviews the literature on cash transfer programs impacts on citizen-state relations and consolidating citizenship for previously marginalized communities. Jamil compares some of the literature on South Asia with Latin America and concludes with his own research on Pakistan.
