Project Title: Caste-based Preferences, Social Pressure and (Statistical) Discrimination in the Labor Market in Village India
Mike Neubauer is a PhD student in Economics at Brown, whose research interests include Spatial, Environmental, and Development Economics. His current project investigates caste-based discrimination in rural labor markets, by using experimental methods to try to disentangle various factors causing different caste groups to experience different outcomes in the casual labor market. Before coming to Brown, Mike received his B.A. from Williams College, where he majored in Economics and Chinese.
