December 9, 2016

Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice Faculty Associate Grants Spring 2017

CSSJ Faculty Associate Grants are designed to support the synergistic development of intellectual community and research on campus. We invite Brown University faculty and researchers to submit proposals that focus on broad issues to do with slavery, justice, freedom, and contemporary forms of human bondage.

Maximum Award: $2,000

We accept proposals from all Brown departments and programs across the Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences. Collaborative proposals are encouraged (e.g., faculty within and across departments or even across local/regional institutions, and Brown faculty/student collaborations). The faculty awardee will be designated a Faculty Associate of CSSJ.

Grantees will be asked to provide a brief summary of their activities within one month of the end of their project and present a seminar on their work.

Application Process

Proposals will be evaluated by CSSJ and should be sent to Associate Director, Roquinaldo Ferreira [roquinaldo_ferreira@brown.edu].

The deadline to submit proposals is on January 15, 2017.
