Dear colleagues, students and friends of CMES,

Following the devastating news of Hisham Awartani and his two friends being shot, we have learned that Hisham's injury has caused paralysis from the chest down. Many of you have contacted us and would like to find ways to help. This GoFundMe page was started by Hisham's family to help him as he moves into the next phase of his life—recovery. It would be tremendously helpful if you could donate and also circulate amongst your networks. Meanwhile, we are all hoping to welcome Hisham back on campus as soon as possible.
