Gabrielle Hsi '20 pursues studies in Chinese foreign policy while teaching English in Taiwan and furthering her own language studies

Since graduating from Brown in 2020, Gabrielle Hsi has served as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) and English Teaching Fellow (ETF) in Taiwan through the Fulbright program. She currently teaches in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, helping run her school’s English radio station and serving as a translator. She is also a student at National Sun Yat-Sen University, focusing on language study. Gabrielle hopes to study China’s foreign policy as it relates not only to Taiwan, but regions such as the Middle East in order to understand the implications on conflict prevention, sustainable development, and peacebuilding.
